If you would like to reconnect with your food source, eat the tastiest, How it works: CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Jharvest members commit to buying a share of produce from Oxbow farm and pick-up fresh, organic produce weekly at Hillel at The University of Washington. Jharvest: Jharvest's CSA Program puts Jewish purchasing power behind local, sustainable agriculture. Jharvest is also a platform for innovative educational and community-building programs that explore the intersection of food and Jewish tradition. Run by Jconnect Seattle and Hillel at the University of Washington, the educational programming sets Jharvest apart from other CSAs by creating a deeper relationship as Jews to the food we eat. Perks of Jharvest Membershop:
About the farm: Our CSA shares are from Oxbow Organic Farm, a ten acre mixed vegetable, tree fruit and berry farm located in the Snoqualmie Valley. The farm borders a horseshoe-shaped ("oxbow") lake, that provides critical habitat for salmon and other wildlife. It is fed by the Snoqualmie River, which brings rich, Cascade glacial till to the soil. These energizing minerals are the roots of the valley's food web, coursing through the produce grown on the farm.
