5:45pm to 7:45pmTara Whitsitt of Fermentation on Wheels will hold a vegetable fermentation workshop at Hillel UW! She will teach the simple tradition of preserving fruits and vegetables using local, seasonal ingredients. Tara will also share the benefits of fermentation and how you can creatively & fearlessly ferment in your own kitchen. This workshop is open to anyone, regardless of experience level.
Tara's work was recently featured in the New York Times! Fermentation on Wheels is a grassroots organization that provides free food education to raise awareness about food sustainability. The community organizes potlucks and teaches fermentation in a school bus that has been converted into a creative kitchen and workshop space. By traveling the country, visiting farmers and connecting them with consumers, Fermentation on Wheels hopes to make a powerful statement and emphasize the importance of strong, sustainable food practices and values.
Fermentation on Wheels will be held in the Hillel UW parking lot.
