Join Jconnect as we come together with Congregation Beth Shalom, Selah, Kavana, Kadima, and Temple Beth Am to observe Tisha B'Av.

Tisha B'Av is a day of mourning that commemorates the destruction of the first and second Temples.

One of the reasons for the destruction of the Temples was “sinat hinam,” senseless hatred amongst Jews. But we are also taught that the Messiah will be born on Tisha B’Av—suggesting that out of this destruction, there is also the potential of redemption, and reconciliation. This year, we will learn, sing and break fast together as a response to the senseless hatred and destruction associated with Tisha B’Av and in our world today.

The evening will begin with a learning session at 7:30pm, followed by a break fast meal at 9:00pm.
