Calling all Jconnectors! It’s time to select our steering committee for July 2024 – June 2025. The steering committee helps ensure our programming meets the needs of our community, that those programs happens successfully, and that everyone feels welcome at Jconnect events. Ultimately the steering committee should be representative of our whole community.
The ideal candidate is:
- genuinely excited about connecting people to Jconnect and Jewish community in Seattle.
- motivated by creating innovative Jewish programming for people in their 20s and 30s.
- can commit to attending Jconnect’s major events throughout the year.
The core responsibilities include:
- serving as a welcoming presence at Jconnect events, bringing new people into the community in a warm and inviting way.
- helping inform Jconnect programming decisions based on feedback from the community.
- staffing event check-in tables as needed.
- marketing and recruitment for Jconnect events in their own networks.
- chairing the planning and execution of at least one event per year in collaboration with the Jconnect professional staff.
Steering committee members will attend one in-person kickoff event and subsequently work largely asynchronously throughout the year, with full committee meetings scheduled only as necessary.
Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Nominations of current steering committee members are welcome.
A limited number of spots are available; nominees that have been successful will be notified on June 10th, 2024. Nominees should plan to attend the last re:connect Shabbat of the year on June 14th, 2024, to be introduced to the community as their steering committee for next year.
