Thursday, August 27
7:00pm to 9:00pm*Please note: This event was originally scheduled for August 18th, but has been rescheduled to August 27th.
Many of us are feeling a swell of emotion and energy in response to the uprising against racism in America. Many are feeling newly invited into a commitment to justice, or renewed energy in the racial justice work we’ve been doing. Either way — whether we are newly arriving or have been struggling for freedom for years — the work of ending racism is long-term, and requires us to be resilient, curious, connected, and open to change.
In this two hour session, we will ground in Jewish and creative technologies as we begin to integrate some of the Black thought leadership that is guiding movements for liberation in this moment, and aiming us toward a world in which everyone is safe.
This program will rely on the Jewish Studio Process, which is an artmaking methodology. Please bring supplies with you that allow you to make marks on paper, as well as a journal and something to write with. If this is your first time making art or your first time engaging in a conversation about racism in a group, you are welcome to join!
