About the Film: This cheeky spy comedy reimagines the circumstances around the real-life assassination of a Hamas operative. A fast-paced, irreverent throwback spy comedy, KIDON reimagines the cloak-and-dagger caper behind the real-life assassination of a Hamas operative.
When Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh is found dead in his Dubai hotel room in 2010, the police immediately blame the Mossad (Israel’s Intelligence Department) and release tapes showing the alleged agents caught red-handed. The story makes international news, but no one is more shocked than the Mossad—they’ve never heard of these agents or their mission.
Suddenly, the Mossad finds itself part of a high-stakes con game, as they scramble to discover who’s framing them and why. Following in the footsteps of comedy escapades like OCEAN’S 11 and AMERICAN HUSTLE, director Emmanuel Naccache casts a stellar and star-studded ensemble (including Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli) for a film packed with twists, laughs, and escapist fun.
