7:00pm to 8:00pmTisha B’Av is traditionally mourned as the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, marking the destruction of the Temple and our people's loss of a central meeting place; our home in the spiritual world. This year we will mark Tisha B’Av with a storytelling event inspired by “The Moth,” allowing our community to voice their experiences with loss: the sad, the hilarious, the poignant and everything in between. We’ll have drinks, desserts, and an intimate setting in which to process and ponder the losses we’ve endured - both personally and communally. We guarantee you’ll walk away from the evening enriched by the words of others, having learned a thing or two about how we process and move beyond grief in our busy, complex lives.
We invite you to participate in this event as a storyteller or as an audience member. If you are interested in sharing your story, please submit your idea to Clara at ClaraC@jewishinseattle.org. Curious about what storytelling might look like? Go here to learn more about criteria.
We look forward to marking this powerful Jewish holiday with Seattle’s Jewish Young Adult Community.
